Beginning this thursday night, I'll be doing some sort of gravel ride every thursday night in preparation for the Dirty Kanza. I realize most of us all have jobs/families/drinking problems, but I think commiting one night a week to some "team action" is pretty reasonable.
We can make it a group thing or every-man-for-himself. I don't give a shit. One thing I do know is that I'm a lot more motivated to ride when I know my friends will be there too, whether they're beside me or 2 miles ahead.
This week I'm hitting the Katy at about 815 and riding to Hartsburg and back. It's only 20 miles and if the Hartsburg bar is open..I will most likely eat a fried pickle or two. It'd sure be nice if I didn't have to go alone.
Bob, I'll try and meet up with you somewhere on the trail.
Are there any group rides going on this weekend? I'm looking to get it a leisurely 30 miler or so. If Team Virtus is doing their ride to Tebbetts again, I may try and crash their party.

Stoney, I plan on riding Saturday and Sunday. I'm looking at getting some 50 milers in.

Those would be spammers, Turbo. How's the DK training going? Are you sticking to your Dad's training plan?

it's goin alright. I'm getting ready to head out for a ride here in a few minutes. As far as the plan, i'm using it as more of a guideline. How's training for everyone else??

Mine is going great, but I've got a looooooooong way to go.
Don't ever get fat, it's over-rated.

Great ride last night! We need to be doing shit like that a lot more often.

Definitely a good time. I guess I'll have to put a big boy gear on the single-speed to keep up. Who won the sprint back?

Rumor has it that Nick Smith overpowered Gizmo in the final stretch
Posted by: Bob | Jan 30, 2012 at 10:04 AM
He is deceivingly good at sprinting... That and he times his sprints really well. He's left me in the dust a time or two.

So am I Gizmo? or XTR?
Posted by: Corey | Feb 01, 2012 at 12:41 PM
Isn't Gizmo a gremlin???? Dude, stay out of the water.
Posted by: matt | Feb 01, 2012 at 01:16 PM
Actually, Gizmo is a Mogwai. Water doesn't turn a Mogwai into a gremlin. It makes the Mogwai replicate into more Mogwai. Feeding a Mogwai after midnight is what turns it into a gremlin, which did in fact happen to Gizmo. So I guess the answer to your question, Matt, is yes and no. I hope that helps.
