DK Training/Fun Ride

 

OK, let me bounce an idea off of you guys. We all know the DK is in 3 months, and I think it's safe to say most of us will be doing a fair bit of riding in the dark if we plan on finishing. I think it'd be a good idea to organize an overnight ride on the MKT.

I'd prefer to do this ride with as many people as possible, but I'm going solo if noone is interested.

Deets: I plan to leave at an unknown time in the evening on Thursday, April 22nd. My goal is to pedal my portly ass all the way to Augusta and make camp for a little nap. It should be just under 80 miles one-way.

According to the Mo Katy Trail trip-planner thingie, there's a cafe or 2 and a brewery in town. I'd like to eat there, grab a souvenir and then head home. If anyone is completely drained from the ride to Augusta, it's only 30 miles back to Hermann to catch a train. There's a train leaving for JC at 10:50 am and another at 530, and it's less than an hour train-ride home from there.

Yes, it's Easter weekend, but we'll be back in plenty of time to do family stuff.
