Mt Pleasant CX report

We had 5 TRW members suit up and race the ridiculously tough Mt Pleasant Winery course in Augusta.  This course is good for mountain bikers, but with all the ups and downs its not a good course for single-speeders or bodybuilders.  Nick and I were on our single-speeds although he entered the C race with Corey, Adam, and Justin.

The single-speeders got a 10-second head start, but it wasn't long before Nick caught up with me.  Shortly after Corey came past.  Then a while later Adam came by.   Justin rode a strong race finishing mid-pack.  Adam suffers from the same problem as Sonya - he's too damn nice about passing.  You're a big dude, Adam.  Just knock those scrawny punks out of the way.  As long as they're not wearing a Red Wheel jersey anyway. 

Noelle did the running event.  Better her than me.  Dana entered the womens race and rode well.   Bob and Cara were there to spectate and heckle.  Bob was responsible for me getting my first hand-up.  Single-speeders and C racers don't get hand-ups often.  On my last lap, I came by and heard them screaming at me to "Get the Hornet's Nest! Get the Hornet's nest!"  I didn't know WTH(what the heck) they were talking about until I noticed a kid holding her hand out with a hornet's nest.  No hornets inside, thankfully.  So I took it and threw it at Bob.  I was hoping for a beer or at least a dollar. 

After the race, we hung out at the biggest hill cheering/heckling the A and B racers.  Hopefully not too many incriminating photos pop up on the internet.  Bob made a special point to heckle the CBC racers from Columbia.  He may be on to something.  How about we start a rivalry with them, instead of each other?  Just a thought.
