So, we all know what's going down tomorrow, right? If you don't, you should definintely pull your head out from under that rock and call Nick ASAP.

Anyway, I was thinking about heading out to Binder tonight to do a little "in-the-dark" pre-ride just to make sure things are nice and tidy for our visitors tomorrow. I'll prolly roll into the woods around 9 if anyone is interested in joining me.

Looks like the trail will be dry this Tuesday (1st time in weeks). The lake boys are comming up, and over half of the trail is weedeated, should be a good  time.

Rhett's Run report, TEAM Redwheel

I have been thoroughly beat upon the head and shoulders about Kanza report I wrote and that there is no 'I' in the word Team.  Although I did tell Nick the the letters m and e are in it.  He had to think about that for a while.  There were several of us in Columbia.  Rain the night before and early in the day, but the trail really dried up throughout the race.  The race timers and recording left a lot to be desired.  Results won't be up for a couple more days.  Stoney was the only one to ride Marathon.  Fuhrmann won his division.  I don't know how Nick did, I got tired of waiting for the awards after the race.  I don't know how anyone else did yet.  Guess that's kind of a lousy team report.  But at least I didn't just mention how thoroughly awesome I was. 

An Epic Wednesday

There's a storm brewing, and I'm not just talking about the one in Chadwick's colon.

Plans are still in a bit of a preliminary stage, but the jist of the story is that there will be a group of RedWheelers journeying down to Southern MO either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. We will ride the  Council Bluff trail to Middle Fork, and then cruise on over to "McGruber's" for another 8 or so miles of home-made singletrack. Return trip should be early Thursday morning.

Camelbaks shall be drained and quads shredded. After the ride we'll use our enormous pile of empty Clif Bar wrappers to build a bonfire, then stand around drinking diet icewaters and bragging about the day's victories. You don't want to miss this.

For those who don't think they can do the whole ride, you can always ride Council Bluff and relax while the rest of us do Middle Fork. Council Bluff is a fantastic trail for all skill levels.

**CAUTION** This is to be an "Epic" ride: Common side effects may include, but are not limited to: excessive smiling, happiness, dirty clothes and the nearly insatiable desire to scream out "Holy shit this is awesome!!" while giving high-fives to all the other people around you. As always, you should consult w/ your physician before participating in anything this awesome.

More Dirty Kanza

Okay, here are a few more pics.  Everyone has probably heard all the stories by now so I won't go into any details.  It was blazing hot.  I did 135 miles puked my guts out several times, got lost, was stalked by coyotes as I lay on the side of the road, blah, blah, blah.  Can't wait for next year.  I've finished this thing twice, in 2007 and 2008.  But the epic failure in 2009 is what makes me want to go back.  That and the awesome course.  You ain't never seen gravel roads and terrain like this.

Good choice of black for the team colors.  None more black.
