Back in February, I bought a new stumpjumper 29er from Nick 'cause I wanted a geared bike. Since that time, I haven't had an opportunity to ride it. I could have raced it but I wanted to get a feel for the bike before racing. Well, I couldn't stand it any longer. I've been staring at it in my basement with all those gears on it thinking to myself "I wonder what it would look like without all that extra crap on it." I ended up pulling all the shifty-clicky stuff off of it on Saturday morning. Rode it out to Castlewood and hit the trails for a couple of hours. WOW! This bike rocks. It carves the trail like its on rails. It's been 5 years since I've been on a suspension fork and the REBA is like butter. I'm kind of likin' it. I'm still daydreaming about a how light the bike would be with a carbon fork but I have to say that REBA is going to stay on it for now. Pics of the bike in its proper form:
The devil's bits:
Maybe I was just feelin' the 'tarts. I got the 48 car, if you're wondering.
